Canopy have teamed up with Arthouse Architects and Aaron Walton Architecture to design a new apartment complex along Beach Road in Tahunanui, Nelson. Our resort style design for the outdoor areas include an arrival area, linking pools, a mix of native and sub-tropical planting, private seating and lounging areas.

Canopy was involved in the landscape design for Nelson Central School’s Treemendous School Makeovers submission late last year. This joint initiative between the Mazda Foundation and Project Crimson aims at teaching children the importance of the environment and caring for its native habitats. After being successful and receiving a $10,000 grant, Nelson Central School, Canopy and a few other fantastic local businesses got to work making our design a reality. This involved an amphitheatre for outdoor teaching, a relaxation zone, sensory zone, and various houses for native insects and birds.
After weeks of working bees with the help of volunteers the sensory outdoor classroom at Nelson Central School was completed this month and we went along to the final working bee and opening day. Great to see such a turnout and to give back to the community!
Our busy workload means we are on the hunt for a talented landscape architect. Someone who is both skilled and passionate about their work and wants to become an important member of our team.
The role is for a landscape architect who will work with us with a focus on the preparation of 3D modelling and draughting. Remuneration for this role will be negotiated with the successful candidate and be relative to their skills and experience.
You will ideally have:
· excellent design skills;
· great drafting skills;
· competency in Vectorworks and/or AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office;
· 3D modelling skills;
· experience in the preparation of detailed design and construction documentation and project management;
· the necessary Landscape Architectural or Draughting qualifications;
· good time management skills and a motivated attitude towards project work;
· a friendly manner and able to communicate well with staff, clients and the public.
